Current Situation of VFX Industry: The VFX industry was severely underestimated until 2015. Many people looked down on it, thinking it was a field for the illiterate because no degree or qualification was required to join. It was seen as skill-based, accessible to anyone with the talent, yet widely misunderstood due to lack of awareness. Back then, professions like engineering and medicine overshadowed it. However, between 2011 and 2018 , the industry matured significantly, gaining recognition. Before, there were only 4-5 VFX companies in India , but now, hundreds have emerged, marking a positive shift. In the past, a salary of 20,000 to 30,000 rupees was considered great, but now, many earn in lakhs. Despite its booming growth, the VFX industry faced a major setback with the onset of the Corona Pandemic. Many lost their livelihoods, feeling disheartened. Suresh Kumar Puppala, the son of Prabhakar Puppala, always had a love for Art, Crafting, and Animated TV shows, even from his childhood. His passion for Dolls and Animated characters, however, faced skepticism from his middle-class family. With a typical mindset and limited exposure to anything beyond engineering and medicine, pursuing his interests seemed like a distant dream.

Born into tough family conditions with three siblings, Suresh managed to study up to post-graduation in political science. During his graduation, he stumbled upon "Polar Express" and discovered his fascination with Animation software. Despite his peers excelling academically, Suresh found himself struggling to find his true calling.

In a twist of fate, he spotted a newspaper ad for a job in Dubai, requiring a Diesel Mechanic. Although the job was  a Ceramic Polishing machine Technician, it was a tough gig. During his visits to the office space, he noticed people working comfortably on computers, including architects using 3D software. This reignited his passion for Animation.

Frustrated with his current job, Suresh Kumar Puppala returned to India due to a family emergency and concurrent final year exams. His family, hoping for him to follow a traditional path, suggested pursuing an MCA in Bengaluru. Despite his reservations and lack of interest in studies, he hesitated to oppose his elder brother.

Feeling the pressure, Suresh left home without notice and sought refuge in a friend's room in Hyderabad. It was there that he rekindled his interest in Animation, inspired by his friend working in 3ds max. His family found him, and after understanding his passion, his father supported him with Rs. 30,000 for an animation course.

Despite facing setbacks with a closed institute and sudden homelessness, Suresh's determination led him to Race Animation College in Hyderabad. Completing his animation course during a challenging time, he struggled for 2.5 years before landing a job as a Mocap Data Cleanup Artist at Mobility Art Studios.

The rollercoaster continued as the studio closed abruptly after eight months, leaving him without documentation. Adapting to the instability in the Animation Industry, Suresh shifted to a different department and joined Maya Entertainment Limited as a Render Wrangler.

Suresh Kumar Puppala's journey involved relocating to the Delhi branch, experiencing a layoff, and transitioning to the 2D department for stability. Learning Roto in Fusion software, he secured a position at Prime Focus Mumbai as a Roto Artist, but placed in Hyderabad branch eventually becoming a Roto Lead, in a short spam of 2-3 months.

With eight years of Bollywood projects under his belt, Suresh Kumar Puppala joined MPC as a Senior Paint Prep Artist, where he spent Five successful years before moving to Ghost VFX in pune, as a Senior Paint Artist

MPC remained a significant milestone in his career due to its positive work culture.

Suresh's dedication paid off when he contributed to the Oscar-winning film "1917" during his time at MPC. His ultimate goal is to achieve a better position in life and stand alongside his well-settled cousins in various fields. He hopes the VFX industry will continue to thrive, eventually reaching the heights of recognition enjoyed by engineers and doctors.
