Current Situation of VFX Industry: The VFX industry was severely underestimated until 2015. Many people looked down on it, thinking it was a field for the illiterate because no degree or qualification was required to join. It was seen as skill-based, accessible to anyone with the talent, yet widely misunderstood due to lack of awareness. Back then, professions like engineering and medicine overshadowed it. However, between 2011 and 2018 , the industry matured significantly, gaining recognition. Before, there were only 4-5 VFX companies in India , but now, hundreds have emerged, marking a positive shift. In the past, a salary of 20,000 to 30,000 rupees was considered great, but now, many earn in lakhs. Despite its booming growth, the VFX industry faced a major setback with the onset of the Corona Pandemic. Many lost their livelihoods, feeling disheartened. Jumping Hoops to Painting Dreams : A journey of VFX Paint Artist Tatipamula Sampath Gowd

Early Days:

Tatipamula Sampath Gowd, a boy from Kamareddy, Andhra Pradesh (now in Telangana), loved chicken biryani and playing sports. He was super active and really good at long jump and high jump in school.


Facing Challenges:

But it wasn't easy. His family didn't have a lot of money, so he couldn't keep doing sports because it cost too much for equipment and travel.


Adventure Abroad: Looking for Answers in the Gulf


Going Overseas:

Sampath went to work in a place far away called the Gulf countries. There, he worked at a fun indoor game zone and saw lots of kids having a blast.


Finding Inspiration:

Seeing those kids having fun made him think about his own dreams back home.


Finding His Way: Friends and Decisions


A Helping Hand:

When Sampath Gowd came back to India, He wasn't sure what to do. But his friend Pradeep Reddy helped him decide to learn about making cool things on computers.


Learning New Stuff:

With Pradeep's help, Sampath went to a special school called Arena Animation, Dilsukhnagar to learn about making cool stuff on computers while also studying for a degree.


From Prasad EFX to Big Dreams


Getting a Job:  

Before he finished his courses, Sampath got a job as an artist at a place called Prasad EFX.


Ups and Downs:

But then, Prasad EFX closed down. Sampath didn't give up. With his friend Pradeep's support, he found another job at Filaments VFX in Bihar.


Big Dreams Come True:

From there, Sampath worked at big companies like Prime Focus and MPC, where he's now a Paint Lead.


Looking Ahead: Dreams for Tomorrow


Remembering the Good Times:

Sampath won 16 prizes for sports when he was in school on occasion of Independence Day. And he got awards for his hard work at Prime Focus and MPC.


Dreaming Big:

But he's not done yet. Sampath dreams of reaching even higher in his career and making his dreams come true.
