Current Situation of VFX Industry: The VFX industry was severely underestimated until 2015. Many people looked down on it, thinking it was a field for the illiterate because no degree or qualification was required to join. It was seen as skill-based, accessible to anyone with the talent, yet widely misunderstood due to lack of awareness. Back then, professions like engineering and medicine overshadowed it. However, between 2011 and 2018 , the industry matured significantly, gaining recognition. Before, there were only 4-5 VFX companies in India , but now, hundreds have emerged, marking a positive shift. In the past, a salary of 20,000 to 30,000 rupees was considered great, but now, many earn in lakhs. Despite its booming growth, the VFX industry faced a major setback with the onset of the Corona Pandemic. Many lost their livelihoods, feeling disheartened. Meet Satish Kumar Singh, the son of Ishwari Singh, a cheerful and talented VFX artist from Ranchi, Jharkhand. Born on August 04, 1989, Satish completed his Bachelor of Arts (BA). With 14 years of dynamic experience and a fiery passion, he's earned the title of 'VFX Yodha'.


Satish Kumar Singh's childhood revolved around his love for Cricket, with MS Dhoni as his sports hero. He also enjoyed playing games like table tennis, foosball, and volleyball. His imagination was fueled by cinematic worlds like those of Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean, and he admired actors like Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio. Satish's favorite foods include Bihar's famous Sattu Paratha and Amritsari Chole Bhature, Hyderabadi Biryani.


Satish Kumar singh's friend Niraj noticed Satish's love for action-adventure movies and introduced him to the world of VFX. Satish found his passion and joined Arena Animation in Ranchi in 2007. Starting as a Roto Artist at Rotomaker, he faced challenges with continuous night shifts for 6-7 months. But his dedication paid off with a salary increase, marking his first taste of success. Satish then moved on to Filament VFX, Prime Focus, Dneg, MPC, and currently works at Ghost VFX Pune as a Senior Paint Artist.


His vibrant 6+ years at MPC propelled his career forward, especially with the positive work culture and his contributions to Hollywood blockbusters. Satish's work on OSCAR and VES winning films like 'The Jungle Book' and '1917' stand out as milestones in his career.


Despite his success as a seasoned VFX Paint Artist, Satish aims to challenge himself by becoming a Compositor and shaping the final look of scenes.
